Every job runs on your computer, on a local engine. No account, no telemetry, no uploads. You don't have to take our word for it: switch off the Wi‑Fi next to this text.

    Files are read from your disk and written to your disk. Every job writes a new file; the original is never overwritten.

  • No telemetry

    No usage data is collected, and you never need an account.

  • Open source

    All of the code is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 licence. You can read what it does.

  • Offline with one switch

    Offline mode in Settings › Web cuts every connection, including update checks, web search and DOI lookups.

The app only goes online for jobs you start: update checks, PDF from a web page, DOI and picture search, online signature checks. Your documents are never uploaded.

Wi‑Fi is on. Document jobs still stay off the network.

Gatekeeper may warn you the first time. The app is not notarised by Apple, so follow these steps:

Open the DMG and drag vivePDF to Applications. Office conversions use the LibreOffice in Applications, or the app downloads it when you ask. Later releases arrive from inside the app.

Linux and building from source

On Linux, vivePDF is built from source. The same three commands work on Windows and macOS too.
